If times permit it is a must see the old railway station museum situated not far from the golf course, El Arish was first established in 1920. The first buildings were constructed in 1923 where the pub from 1927 creates a good atmosphere for a cold drink on a warm day.If you are a Golfer there is an excellent golf course in El Arish, Phone 4068 5140 . Bowls can be played at Silkwood only 7 Klm from Diggers Creek , Ph 4065 2212.Mission Beach with it's tropical atmosphere is only 16.9 Klm and Kurrimine Beach being just 15.9Klm from Diggers Creek Motel & Caravan Park  makes it a great day at the beach with little travel time, On your way to Mission Beach do not forget the tropical wine tasting at the Winery ( Paradise Estate Wines ) not far from the beach. Or a stroll through Tam o Shanter N.P walking track. On returning to your motel unit or caravan you could drive the loop via Bingal Bay and check the specials for Dunk Island, If you prefer the Ocean for our saltwater pool stinger nets are in place at both locations for your safety at the beach.
